The room was nicely styled and equipped with a comfy bed and a fan. It also had a balcony, which was great. The staff were excellent and smart at the reception desk. it accommodated us perfectly and everything was fairly clean.

Everything was perfectly organised, the staff were TOP-CLASS and the location was amazing. Location: the hotel was adjacent to bars & restaurants and Plaza Catalunya main central square of Barcelona. Found Glups with perfect drinks 200 metres away.

1. The location was pretty good since it is a 3 minutes walk from the Metro Station Arc de Triomf, and within 10 minutes walk to the Gothic Quaters, Catalunya, etc. 2. The Wifi was very good: consistent and strong reception.
1. The staff messaged me via 'Whatsapp' to ask me about my arrival time. I think this was almost an invasion of privacy especially when they start to contact you directly on your phone to ask about details so that they can know when they 'don't have to' be at their reception. This is because the reception is usually not available, and they only make time to be there when they know when their guest is arriving. I think this is ridiculous especially if you need help or have question and no one is there at all. 2. They are only located on the first level ( or ground level), with only 8 single rooms and 2 double rooms. Only two single rooms have windows facing the street ( which can be relatively noisy at times because the windows are not sound-proof). Some other rooms face a horrible airwell, and the two double room face a back smoking patio. The rooms are really just for putting your bags, and sleeping ( see the next point), and you really cant do anything in there. They only provide a pack of gel ( which I don't know what it was for) and small piece of soap which I don't understand how anyone can use them for a shared bathroom since you cannot really carry a piece of wet soap back/ fro the bathroom. 3.The mattress was really bad, period. You can feel the metal spring on your back as you lie on it. The pillows were not good. I am usually a good sleeper and I can sleep well anywhere, but this was really a big challenge to try to get a good night's sleep here. 4. The room was generally clean, but they sprayed so much air freshner, that I suspect if they really do clean it well or they just tidied up the place and sprayed alot of air freshner to cover up. 5.The shared bathroom looked tidy, but the shower curtain was fairly filthy. It didn't looked like it was replaced or washed for the last few months. 6. The tea and coffee provided looked pretty sad.

The unit is well-appointed and beautifully decorated with unique decor. The location is the best possible and top for Barcelona, close to the northern bus station, Girona Costa Brava airport, and a major landmark.

I stayed at La Isla for three nights 6-9 March 2012 and can just add to all positive things which have already been mentioned - a very convenient location 15 min walk from Catalunia sq,spotless very friendly and helpful staff, a double bed in a single room, tea and coffee for free, three bathrooms to share, a fridge and a microwave. And if you are lucky with the neighbours who are not too noisy to open and shut the doors, it's a perfect place for a positively thinking budget traveller.

The staff were very helpful & friendly. The Hostel was not large & very clean & our room was a good size. Sharing the bathroom was not a problem - it was alway clean & there were enough bathroom/toilets for the number of guest rooms. It was well located & we could walk to most of the sites of interest.
Some of the rooms were not as large as ours & may be a bit cramped. The hostel was quiet but if people were moving around in the night, it could be disturbing.

Very helpful and friendly staff! Convenient location, big and clean rooms and bathrooms. No waiting time for shared bathrooms. Welcoming receptionist, complimentary treats, and a calm atmosphere. Good value for money.
Nothing, all excellent.

Nice sized room, tv in room, sink and mirror in room, wifi was good. There is a great, local and well priced restaurant across the road from is building. The owner was nice and the food was pretty decent...recommended.
Hotel is on first floor next to the street so you hear everyone passing by. The walls are thin so you hear almost everything that happens in the room next to yours. The metro runs directly beneath this building and every time it passes the building shakes a little. This was annoying. The main shower didn't get hot for quite a while even though I put it all the way to hot. It did eventually warm up but there's something wrong with the plumbing causing this problem. Finally, the beds were bouncy and uncomfortable nay wife and I both woke up several times throughout the night.

Friendly atmosphere, hotel for young people. Has only 5 or 6 rooms with 2 bathrooms, so sharing it was not really a problem. Free coffee/tea in lobby, rooms were cleaned every day. Flexible owners: in case room is free they allow early check in/ late check out, always ready to help. Great location, 5 min walk from La Rambla. Room had all the basic facilities. VALUE FOR MONEY
Matress in the room was not comfortable. In case you do not sleep well during the night, the street is a bit noisey, so request room, which is not on the front of the building.

The location is great, a few seconds walk from the Arc Troimf (don´t know whether the spelling is right, should be the "gate of victory" in spanish). Staff is very very friendly and willing to help. Shared bathroom and toilet are also very clean.
There are 3 hostels in the same buidling so it was very noisy during night. The bed is too soft so not very comfortable.
